Please pardon the interruption but it's that time of year again, and the HIPLA science fair committee is in need of volunteers to judge at the Houston Science and Engineering Fair. Fair dates are March 14-15, 2008 at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Judging takes place on Friday, March 14 and the awards ceremony is Saturday, March 15. HIPLA will award two scholarships to the winners of our choice in the Ninth grade and Senior Individual categories. You are not required to attend the awards ceremony on Saturday, we simply ask that you donate some of your time on Friday to come out and judge. You don't need to have an extensive technical background, just a willingness to ask questions and interact with students. I have participated for the past six years and I am always surprised at how incredibly gifted the students are and how much they appreciate your time.

It is crucial that members of HIPLA attend as judges so that we can acknowledge the hard work of young scientists and engineers from Houston area schools. Please let me know by March 12th if you can join us in judging at the Science Fair. Thank you for your help.
