Speakers:

Rene A. Treviño - GreenbergTraurig

  • Rene Treviño focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation before the Federal courts, Texas courts, and the American Arbitration Association.  As a former software engineer at IBM, Rene handles a broad range of intellectual property rights matters, including patent, trademark, and copyright.  His technical experience includes computer hardware and application software, medical devices, and pharmaceutical products.

    With over 18 years of experience, Rene represents clients before the Supreme Court of the United States, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and Fifth Circuit, and many district courts across the country, including the Eastern District of Texas, where he served as a law clerk for the (Ret.) Hon. Chief Judge Leonard E. Davis (Tyler/Marshall Divisions). 

    Rene earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Texas at Austin; J.D., magna cum laude, from Texas Southern University – Thurgood Marshall School of Law; and LL.M. – Intellectual Property and Information Law from University of Houston – Law Center.


Justin Bernstein - GreenbergTraurig

  • Justin Bernstein is an appellate attorney whose appeals have helped change the law and bring clarity to how businesses operate in Texas. Justin’s experience clerking for Chief Justice Hecht provides him with insight into the procedures and concerns of courts of appeal. His work extends beyond crafting briefs to every strategy important to a successful appeal, including advising trial counsel on creating the optimal record, coordinating amicus curiae from affected industries, and identifying the best time and method for requesting appellate review.  Justin also practices within the AI practice group at GreenbergTraurig.
