Open Source Software: Can You Afford to Ignore It?

The recent proliferation of software in products and services has suddenly transformed many companies into software companies. Nowadays, the use of software inevitably involves open source software, and it necessitates attorneys’ consideration of the associated risks, policies, and best practices. This course is designed to:

Provide an overview of open source software licenses, including who uses them, why and how they are used, and their legal ramifications; and
Educate the audience on the practical consequences of using open source software, including the associated risks and potential liabilities and how to mitigate them.
